Saturday was Workshop day here in Dornbirn. Spectators, gymnasts, observers, evaluators, coaches and onlookers filed in minutes before the first Workshop began; these classes are open to anyone interested.

João Martins (POR) improvised a fabulous show with the help of volunteers, who when out on the podium gave it all they had. The public was fantastic, showing good-natured enthusiasm from the grandstand.

Riikka Virkajärvi-Johnson (FIN) immediately captured the attention of workshopers throughout the hall. 'Use your body like running water. Don't forget that every move originates in the trunk, at your energy centre'. A few tries and Riikka had instructed participants on how to make waves that resemble a rolling sea. Spectacular!

The last Workshop focused on spirited dance moves. Margo Cornelissen (NED) chose Irish melodies for her presentation, and made quick work of teaching her recruits the steps. Original choreography peppered with hand clapping and tap-dancing elements. Participants danced their hearts out like true Irish folk!

Both onlookers and volunteers loved these Workshops. They were a great place to discover and explore new possibilities, and to walk away with a host of innovative ideas to use in their own gymnastic halls.
